With all the Puja committees giving their best to gather maximum appreciation, Silchar’s Shyamaprasad Road Durga Puja Committee is getting set to join the race with the theme of ‘global warming’.
The Rs 5 lakh budgeted Puja will offer a replica of the dangerous ‘global warming’ inside the 40 feet high pandal along with a five minute long visual clipping. Organizers of the Puja said that the main motive is to make people aware of the terrible consequence of global warming which is slowly crossing the danger line. Moreover, 30 feet tall gate decorated with bright lights along with killing of the Demon by hands of Goddess Durga through mechanical lighting will be added sparks of the Puja. Several other attractions will also count the Puja days, in addition to awareness about deforestation and other environment hazards.
The Puja committee’s president and vice-president posts are being held by Hemranjan Das and Samarendra Bhattacharjee respectively. Shyamal Bhuiya, Himadri Sekhar Das, Parag Nandi Mazumder and Sujit Nandi are holding posts of general secretary.
