Bonedi Acuity: Dilip Smriti Sangha 2013
In West Bengal, Durga Pujo has customarily been the most famous festival. People from all factions and religions have been celebrating this event with great fervour and gusto for ages. Zamindars and noble families of the state have long been known to celebrate this festival in their own inimitable ways, thus giving birth to the concept of Bonedi Barir Puja.
Besides worshipping the goddess, these rich families have always shown the importance of preserving the culture and tradition in the finest way. They have always engaged in Durga puja celebrations in such intense way that the festivities have always matched the opulence and charm of the common form of financed ‘Barowari’ pujos. In the pursuit of Indian culture, these families have never cared about prizes and themes.
Dilip Smriti Sangha is one of the ancient Pujas of South Kolkata and it is celebrating its 73 years of expedition. Secretary Chandan Banerjee & Kuma Chatterjee says that it is a 5 lakhs rupees budget pandal and hopes it to be a successful among the Barowari pujas in South presenting the Bonediana theme. This pandal will be inaugurated on Mahapanchami.
