VEDANTA SOCIETY OF TORONTO


Vedanta Society of Toronto is a branch center of The Ramakrishna Order of India. The Society is under the spiritual leadership of the Ramakrishna Order of India. Vedanta societies are the Western branches of the Ramakrishna Order.The Ramakrishna Order, with headquarters in Kolkata, is one of the largest and most respected religious orders in India today. The Order was inspired by the great Bengali saint, Sri Ramakrishna.

The society was officially inaugurated on November 30, 1968. The ceremony took place at the YWCA building on 21 McGill Street. It was presided over by Swami Bhasyananda and the chief guest was Swami Ranganathananda.

SAGARPARE is a Bengali Community Association serving people of Hamilton,and the vicinity,a part of greater Toronto area.It was formed and approved by general members on January 27, 1980.The community celebrated 25th anniversary of Durga Puja this year in 2012.
