London Sharad Utsav (LSU) was established in December 2008 and is a voluntary, not-for-profit, association based in West and North West London. Sharad Utsav literally means Autumn Festival and represents our key objective of fostering the rich cultural heritage of India in the United Kingdom through various social and cultural events and festivals. These will cover various forms of visual and performing arts as well as community festivals.

Amit Guha, one of members of the marketing team, said, “We are celebrating Durga puja from last two years. We believe in creating ‘Bonding Beyond Boundaries’ and that’s out theme”.

Advancement of arts, culture and heritage: The Association will dedicate itself to advance the rich cultural heritage of India by organising various socio-cultural events, involving different art forms, for the local communities in London. The Association will leverage the rich multicultural and artistic heritage of India and organise various events involving different performing arts, (e.g., music, drama, cultural and community festivals) at different times of the year. Renowned exponents of different art forms, from within the local community as well as outside, will be invited to perform and / or to conduct workshops for art lovers representing different sections of the local community. The members will associate with the local councils to promote cultural integration and community cohesion through such events.

Promotion of racial and ethnic harmony: The Association will also dedicate itself to the promotion of harmony and good-will within the socio-cultural diversity of modern day London, through the events that it organizes. The multi-cultural events that the Association organises will aim to invite and involve participants and visitors from different communities, ethnic groups, backgrounds and abilities. The vision is to create an open, socio-cultural platform of likeminded enthusiasts and provide access to diverse and good quality cultural and artistic expressions to all segments of society. This platform will provide an opportunity for members of the community to come together and celebrate as one; fostering brotherhood across different ethnic groups, cultures, backgrounds, abilities and faiths.
