Chittaranjan Park Kalimandir Sociery will be celebrating its glamorous 34th year in 2010. The Bengali community in our national capital, Delhi, is working very hard to make the festival a memorable one. It seems the community is worried enough because, this time civic officials are much concerned about the Commonwealth Games.
Chittaranjan Park Kali Mandir Society, one of the most dominated Bengali areas in Delhi, has decided to make their programs and schedules accordingly keeping in mind the world event. The puja committee decided on to abide by the government’s law and order and strike a balance between Games and Puja. These four auspicious days will be made special, though a low profile puja will be maintained in delhi.
Brought into the limelight in 1973, Chittaranjan Park Kali Mandir Society has three ‘mandirs’ in its premises, i.e, Kali Mandir, Shiv Mandir and Radha Krishna Mandir. They celebrate Durga Puja, Annapurna Puja, Jagaddhatri Puja, Sarswati Puja and other pujas in a grand way. Unlike our Pujas, they worship God and Goddess on image. The club has other various arrangements for the people like, children’s park, reading room, auditorium for lectures and also organizes cultural programs.
This year the Puja committee has decided to do the celebration in traditional way.
