The president Sasvata Chatterjee of Bengali Association of Dallas Fort Worth (BA-DFW) said to durgapujaonline.com, “Our theme of this year durgapuja is "Rabindrik", to celebrate the 150th birth year of Rabindranath Tagore. Related to Rabindranath Tagore's learning about Batik from a trip to Indonesia, and its subsequent adoption at Shantiniketan, our decoration theme this year is "Batik". Cultural programs include Tagore's Balmiki Pratibha, Konkal and Chitrangada. We have organized cultural programme with Swagtalakshmi Dasgupta, Sasha Ghoshal, Jhinook Mukherjee and Rishi Bandopadhyay.
“Our growing membership of over 800 families from Greater Dallas/ Ft Worth and other parts of North Texas at large represent a well-educated, very established and highly successful cross-section of expatriates from West Bengal and various other parts of India and Bangladesh. For over 25 years now, we have represented the Bengali community of the Dallas/ Ft Worth metropolis.
