Durga Puja, a five-day festival, which starts from the evening of Mahashasthi and ends at Dashami is the happiest moment for every Bengalee. It is the time to stay outdoors in colorful dresses and hopping from one pandal to the other. Md. Ali Park is one of the “Must-see” pendal. It’s a very popular pujo of North Kolkata.
This year Md. Ali Park will come up with another magnificent form of pandal, under the banner of Youth Association. The pandal will be a replica of an Indonasian Pagoda. Rajlaxmi Decorators, Kolkata, have taken up the responsibility of decorating the pandal and its surrounding ambience. The interior decorations of the Pandal will be a treat to the eye of the viewer and an artistic delight. The venue features a simple illumination but the entire park area will be decked up with dazzling and colorful lightings. Venus Electric will take care of this illumination work.
Youth Association was established in 1970. This is one of the prestigious clubs of North Kolkata. Their 40th anniversary celebration is around the corner. In the past few years Md. Ali park emerged with new thoughts and has generated tremendous interest in the viewers mind. This year the theme of Md. Ali park puja is: revolt against “CORRUPTION”.
Corruption has always been a menace in India and the consequences are always devastating. It has devoured integrity and honesty in public life. From grass root level to the highest level of administrations …corruption exists everywhere. Durga Mata is known as the Goddess of Power. People worship Ma to invoke her blessings for materialistic gains such as positions of power and money. Others propitiate Ma to win control over negative feelings and materialistic desires. Besides, people in search of Moksha or salvation also worship Durga Ma with full sincerity. The Motto of this puja is to pray to Durga maa to demolish all the Asuras, who exist in our society, hidden behind various faces.
Day/Date of Inauguration: On Chaturthi i.e. 11th October. It is expected that the inauguration will be done by Shri. Pranab Roy.
Social & Cultural side: The club organizes blood donation camp. They donate books to needy Children and distribute free Medicine for needy people.
How to go: Md. Ali Park is always very attractive puja pandal for the Kolkattan. To access this puja you need to go to Central Avenue. Nearest Metro Station is Central or Mahatma Gandhi Road.
